Drumoig offers a quiet, rural, residential location for people of all ages, it is a prestigious residential and leisure development located in rural north east Fife. There are 124 detached homes with large plot sizes and a uniquely spacious layout throughout. The initial houses and bungalows were built to a similar design template, although no two look the same. Construction was completed in 2004. Superfast Broadband is available. 2018 saw the start of the construction of 36 new properties to be built in Drumoig. The delightful, old University town of St. Andrews with all its cultural, leisure and retail amenities and, the world famous Old Course Golf Course, is in easy reach by the frequent bus service or by a 20 minute car journey. Children of school age use the local Primary School that is only 2 miles away at Newport on Tay, with a school bus service throughout Drumoig.
After that they use Madras College in St Andrews or have a choice of private schools with High School of Dundee and St Leonards, St. Andrews within easy reach. |
Drumoig is fortunate to have the choice from several good GP practices in Leuchars / Balmullo, Newport and Tayport. There is a state-of-the-art, teaching hospital at Dundee (Ninewells) and a smaller, new hospital in St.Andrews. Drumoig's position on the main road between Dundee and St Andrews means residents have easy access to a major city and a major tourist location. Transport links are good with a regular bus service between Dundee and St Andrews and the rail station at Leuchars (3 miles) is the main East Coast rail line. The neighbouring towns of Tayport, with its harbour, its mud flats thronging with wading birds, Or Newport with its variety of small shops and cafes are both within easy reach.
As an alternative the market town of Cupar which is around 20 minutes away and has a good selection of shops and amenities including a Garden Centre and café.

It is also an easy commute of only 4 miles to Dundee with its universities, shops, offices and a thriving cultural scene. This includes the Caird Hall, Dundee Centre of Contemporary Arts, museums and the V&A Museum of Design which opened on Sat 15 September 2018. The location of Drumoig is also ideal for those who want to explore the surrounding countryside on foot or by cycle. There are footpaths, including a Core Path, that run through Drumoig, connecting it with Tentsmuir, with its forest and beach. If you’re lucky you might get to spot a White-Tailed Sea Eagle! Drumoig is renowned for its golfing facilities. A championship, par 73 course weaves its way around the residential areas and the Drumoig Golf Centre offers excellent practice facilities, golf shop and PGA Professional coaching. The Drumoig Golf Hotel caters for golfers and visitors by offering full catering and restaurant facilities.
Supporting the residents of Drumoig is The Drumoig Residents Association (DRA) which is a voluntary, non-profit, organisation open to membership from residents at Drumoig. The DRA was first founded in 2000 and now has over 200 members, which encompasses 94% of households. The DRA is run by volunteer residents and is managed by a Committee.
